So I made a mistake and forgot to publish a piece of content for the Shell phone show this week. Like I knew I had to do it. I just procrastinated. So I guess it wasn’t really a mistake, right? This piece of content though it’s a little bit of an extra piece of content to unmute presents is brought to you thanks to the club unmute members. If you’re interested in club Unmute, head on over to Unmute show, sign up for the club and I go in much more detail than what we’re going to go over today related to Reaper. We’ve got a four week, so 4 hours of content for Reaper and that’s available on your club Unmute podcast feed. So what I want to walk you through is my setup process for the Shell phone show and then we’re going to record it and then we’ll get that published. So I’m going to hit control tab. So I’m going to hit control shift tab to go to the proper project unsaved and it says unsaved. So the first thing we’re going to do is hit control s. This will allow you to save the project.

01:04.106 –> 01:07.010
Save project dialog file name edit alt.

01:07.042 –> 01:20.450
Plus n and today we’re going to call this shell phone show formatting micro SD card and then I’m going to tab through this combo box save as.

01:20.482 –> 01:25.702
Type combo box Reaper project file star RpP Alt T that’s fine.

01:25.758 –> 01:27.438
And I’m gonna hit tab a couple of times.

01:27.526 –> 01:31.670
Save button cancelled Create subdirectory for Project Checkbox checked.

01:31.782 –> 01:36.478
You wanna check that box because that’ll keep all your content contained within a folder. Press your tab key.

01:36.606 –> 01:40.430
Copy all media into project directory using checkbox checked.

01:40.542 –> 01:56.818
This isn’t so important for this project cause we’re gonna record directly into Reaper. But if you’re bringing content from different sources in I recommend checking this box because then it will make a copy of the content. This following checkbox is also important.

01:56.966 –> 01:59.306
Convert media checkbox checked and I like.

01:59.330 –> 02:01.706
To keep that checked and we’ll press tab one more time.

02:01.810 –> 02:04.706
Format button for the format dot dot.

02:04.730 –> 02:06.154
Dot button I’m going to hit space.

02:06.274 –> 02:11.546
Save project dialog combo box and we’re.

02:11.570 –> 02:23.224
Going to change this to flag and press enter. And that’s all the changes I want to make to verify where your project is being saved. You can always hit alt I save.

02:23.264 –> 02:26.120
In combo box projects alt I and.

02:26.152 –> 02:27.920
That’S where I want my project to be saved.

02:27.952 –> 02:35.128
So I’ll hit enter Reaper dialog cannot save with copy move media when recording. Stop recording first. Ok. Button.

02:35.216 –> 02:36.952
Oh, that’s an interesting error.

02:37.128 –> 02:38.160
Track list.

02:38.312 –> 02:40.832
So I’m going to go ahead and save this project real quick.

02:40.968 –> 02:41.816
Unsaved.

02:41.920 –> 02:44.776
Ok, so now we have the project saved.

02:44.880 –> 02:51.680
Shellfone show formatting your micro sd card prod two three Reaper v 715 evaluation license.

02:51.752 –> 03:38.422
So now here’s the process that I go through. I’ve got to find the blind shell. It’s right here. And then I have a cable that I’m going to plug into the headphone jack of the blind shell classic two, volume three. And now that is plugged in. So what we’re going to do is no tracks. We currently have no tracks in this project and we verified this. So what we’re going to do now is we need to create a couple of tracks to record this show. If you press your down arrow, no tracks and that tells us that we need some tracks. Now I do have a project template for this, but for the purposes of this extra recording, we’ll create two tracks. One track is going to have my voice on it and the other track is going to have the blind shell classic two on it. So I’ll hit control t track name.

03:38.478 –> 03:40.886
Shell phone show format, and I’ll give.

03:40.910 –> 03:44.718
This track a name, tap enter track list.

03:44.886 –> 03:48.122
And then we’ll hit control t track name edit.

03:48.218 –> 03:54.330
And I’ll call this blind shell and we’ll hit enter track list. So now if I up arrow one.

03:54.362 –> 03:56.618
Michael, and I down arrow two, blind.

03:56.666 –> 04:11.186
Shell two means it’s track two. So right now we have a project set up that I can configure. And so now we need to pick the inputs for this specific project. So I’m going to up arrow to.

04:11.210 –> 04:12.746
Track one, one michael.

04:12.850 –> 04:14.050
And I’m going to hit shift f.

04:14.082 –> 04:22.736
Ten on windows context menu m monitor input checked m. I’ll tap I for input input mono, check sub menu I.

04:22.840 –> 04:26.976
And for my track I want mono. So I’m going to go into this sub menu.

04:27.080 –> 04:29.840
McLeine instrument one checked m and that’s.

04:29.872 –> 05:00.866
The one that I want. So I’m going to hit enter, leave igme menus, and now that track is ready to go. What I’m going to do here, and you’re going to hear double of me for a second, is I’m going to hit the arm button which is f seven armed. And now this, as you can hear, there’s two of me now. Now I think you can hear that. Hopefully you can hear that. But this tells Reaper, hey, when Michael hits r, I want you to record on this track from the input that’s been selected for this specific track. Now, this might make a little bit.

05:00.890 –> 05:03.402
More sense if I down arrow to blind shell.

05:03.498 –> 05:15.930
And with the blind shell, I need to get audio from a different input. Right now, by default, it’s set to the mic line one. But we need a stereo input of mic line 34.

05:16.122 –> 05:21.346
So I’ll hit shift ten context menu m monitor input checked m. That should.

05:21.370 –> 05:24.394
Have said shift f ten. And I’m going to hit I for.

05:24.434 –> 05:26.962
Input input mono check sub menu.

05:27.018 –> 05:28.994
I blow in a down arrow once.

05:29.074 –> 05:31.794
To input stereo submenu I.

05:31.914 –> 05:35.282
And we’ll go into the sub menu by tapping the right arrow key.

05:35.378 –> 05:38.598
Mic line instrument one McLine two m.

05:38.786 –> 05:41.318
For this track, I want line three four.

05:41.366 –> 05:45.054
So I’ll down arrow Miklides McLine three, mic line four.

05:45.134 –> 05:47.686
Mic line three, micline four.

05:47.710 –> 05:49.794
And we’ll tap enter leaving menus.

05:50.094 –> 05:51.878
Now, if I tap the down arrow.

05:51.966 –> 05:56.470
Two blind shell and I tap the up arrow one armed. Michael, you hear that?

05:56.542 –> 05:57.574
Michael is armed.

05:57.614 –> 06:00.022
So I’m going to tap down arrow two blind shell.

06:00.078 –> 06:15.734
And I actually don’t know if this is going to give us some weird feedback. If it does, I’ll tell you how to fix that real quick. So if I tap the f seven key armed. The blind shell track is now armed. If I tap a button on the blind shell, you should hear double blind shell. 04:03 a.m. oh, wait.

06:17.514 –> 06:18.762
1010.

06:18.938 –> 06:22.054
So you now hear two of the blind shells.

06:22.994 –> 06:24.722
Call one of seven.

06:24.898 –> 06:55.648
Let’s fix that real quick. So we only hear one. The reason you’re hearing two blind shells is because we’re hearing it from the audio interface, which is what we should hear. But you’re also hearing it. Monitor with Reaper. Reaper is very context specific, which means that if you press a key like f seven to arm a track, or f eight, which is the monitor cycle, it will apply that to whichever track you have currently selected. So I’m going to make sure that we have blind shell selected, which is track two.

06:55.736 –> 06:57.040
Two arm blind shell.

06:57.112 –> 06:58.988
And then I’m going to tap f eight twice.

06:59.136 –> 07:01.548
Not when playing record monitor off.

07:01.636 –> 07:05.972
And record monitor is now off. Oh, I should go do that to my track, too.

07:06.068 –> 07:09.396
One armed, michael. Not when playing records monitor off.

07:09.460 –> 07:17.108
And now you only hear one of me, which is how it should be. Oh, I think if you down arrow. Now, if you press a key on.

07:17.116 –> 07:20.908
The blind shell, classic two messages, two of seven.

07:21.036 –> 07:35.410
You can hear that there’s only one blind shell. Classic two here. So let’s get ready for the show. I wonder if I can even record in two different projects at once. We’re gonna find out. Check your time marker with control shift.

07:35.442 –> 07:39.802
JJ zero mid 0.006 stopped and we’re at the start.

07:39.858 –> 08:14.254
So now let’s hit the letter r which will start the recording process. Today’s blind shell classic two episode is gonna walk you through the process of formatting your micro SD card. And this is the task that you need to take once you insert that micro SD card in your blind shell Classic for the first time. If you do not format your micro SD card, then your micro SD card will not be visible by your blind shell Classic two. Let me demonstrate this. If you tap number five to access settings, once you open the main menu.

08:14.714 –> 08:20.650
Settings five of seven, you can then press ok sounds one of eleven.

08:20.842 –> 08:36.108
When you hear one of eleven versus one of ten, this tells you that there is a microSD card in the phone and the phone is registering it. But I want to show you what you hear if you don’t format the micro SD card. Tap the top bar or up button.

08:36.156 –> 08:39.300
Until you hear about phone eleven of.

08:39.332 –> 08:41.516
Eleven and we’ll press ok to go.

08:41.540 –> 08:45.544
Into about phone software versions. One of five.

08:46.204 –> 08:48.304
Now tap the down button once.

08:48.884 –> 08:59.490
Blind Shell Classic two internal storage 7763 mb free. SD card 29438 megabytes free two of.

08:59.522 –> 09:13.130
Five now this SD card has been formatted so it is registering it. However, if it doesn’t and you hear it say SD card zero megabytes free, simply tap your back button about phone.

09:13.242 –> 09:19.010
Eleven of eleven, press option number seven. SD card seven of eleven.

09:19.202 –> 09:20.814
Press the ok button.

09:21.234 –> 09:30.950
Do you really want to format your SD card? All data stored on the card will be lost. Your phone will be restarted after the operation. One of one and we do so well.

09:30.982 –> 09:33.474
Press ok and it’s going to ask us to verify.

09:33.774 –> 09:37.214
Do you really want to perform this action one of one?

09:37.334 –> 09:39.510
Once again we do. So we’ll press ok.

09:39.702 –> 09:42.086
Please wait. Formatting your SD card.

09:42.190 –> 09:49.226
And now the phone is formatting the SD card. So we’ll give this a couple of moments to perform the task.

09:49.390 –> 09:52.674
Your card has been formatted, the phone will be restarted.

09:52.794 –> 10:41.674
And now the phone has been restarted. We heard a click and then I will feel a vibration here in a second, and right there’s the vibration. 28 seconds later we’ll hear the startup melody for the blind shell classic two. And then our micro SD card will be ready to use. If you haven’t heard it yet, check out some of the other blind Shell Classic two. Check out some of the other shell phone show content so you can hear how to back up your contacts and other data on your blind shell classic too. And the volume drops really low when you restart it, so we may need to turn it back up here in a second. We’ll see.

10:42.054 –> 10:47.626
04:08 a.m. eight volume ten yeah, the.

10:47.650 –> 11:30.624
Volume apparently resets itself to seven when you restart your phone. That’s interesting to know. Now you have your micro SD card backed up. Now you have your micro SD card formatted and you’re ready to start saving content on your blind shell Classic two. By default, that content will be saved to your micro SD card and you can perform backups when necessary. That is how you format the blind Shell Classic two for use. That is how you format the micro SD card on the blind Shell Classic two. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. And thanks for listening. Next week Adrian will be back with some exclusive content for shellfish listeners.

Select files to save or delete dialog prompt to save delete rename new files save all button and what I did.

12:04.030 –> 12:08.870
Project with control home r one beat 10% and we’ll hit Spacebar and re.

12:08.902 –> 12:42.094
Listen to this and you’ll hear I’ll walk you through some of these edit processes. Today’s blind Shell Classic two episode is going to walk you through the process of formatting your micro SD card and this is the task that you need to take once you insert that micro sd card in your blind shell Classic two for the first time. If you do not format your micro sd card, then your micro sd card will not be visible by your blind shell Classic two. Let me demonstrate this. If you tap number five to access settings, once you open the main menu.

12:42.474 –> 12:48.294
Settings five seven, you can then press ok sounds one of eleven.

12:48.594 –> 13:12.032
When you hear one of eleven versus one of ten, this tells you that there is a microSD card in the phone and the phone is registering it. But I want to show you what you hear if you don’t format the micro sd card now, I made a mistake there. So first of all, what I did is I hit control space. Actually, I’ll leave this in there. So I’m going to hit space again. Tap the top bar or up button.

13:12.088 –> 13:15.632
Until you hear about phone eleven of eleven.

13:15.768 –> 13:17.568
And we’ll press ok to go into.

13:17.616 –> 13:21.364
About phone software versions. One of five.

13:22.024 –> 13:24.124
Now tap the down button once.

13:24.704 –> 13:35.952
Blind shell Classic two internal storage 7763 megabytes free. SD card 29, four, three, eight megabytes free. Two of five.

13:36.128 –> 13:53.704
Now this sd card, control space. And walk you through editing that breath out. So I’m gonna hit my page out button once and then hit space. Now you hear that breath right there? Now let me show you what it sounds like a little bit easier. So what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna tap my hyphen key.

13:53.784 –> 13:59.360
80. 316. 57. 48. 40.33. 27.9 pixels slash.

13:59.392 –> 14:10.200
Second that zoomed into 27 pixels. Now I’m going to tap the left arrow key and I heard that little click there. So now I’m going to press my left bracket. So now I’m going to press my.

14:10.232 –> 14:12.472
Left bracket, set selection start.

14:12.568 –> 14:39.980
And Jaws tells you set selection start. And what I’m going to do is I’m going to press space until I hear my voice. And then I’m going to press control space. Now. Now as you heard, I stopped right there in the middle of the word. Now if I hit space now, you hear it’s in the middle of the word. So let’s scrub or tap and hold the left arrow key until we get to the beginning of the word. Now. Now. And we are there. And now I’m going to tap my.

14:40.012 –> 14:42.372
Right bracket key, set selection end.

14:42.468 –> 14:59.372
Now I’ve set up a custom shortcut that will move playback to the beginning of a time selection, go back a little bit and then play skipping time selection with the letter e. So I can do that with my left hand. And I want to preview this edit before I make it. So I’m going to go ahead and.

14:59.388 –> 15:01.704
Hit e beat 184%.

15:03.044 –> 15:09.716
Now this SD card has and that breath is gone. So I’m going to tap if we, if we don’t preview it we can.

15:09.740 –> 15:13.628
Relisten to it or three eight megabytes free, two of five.

15:13.796 –> 15:18.700
Now. So as you can hear there’s a distinct breath there. So I’m going to tap the delete.

15:18.732 –> 15:21.540
Key, contents of time selection removed.

15:21.612 –> 15:30.092
And Jaws tells me contents of time selection removed. We’ll press space again, continue until the next edit point, and then we’ll hit control space or three.

15:30.148 –> 15:32.524
Eight mb free. Two of five.

15:32.644 –> 15:45.404
Now, this SD card has been formatted, so it is registering it. However, if it doesn’t and you hear it say SD card, zero megabytes free, simply tap your back button about phone.

15:45.524 –> 15:51.300
Eleven of eleven, press option number seven. SD card. Seven of eleven.

15:51.492 –> 15:53.064
Press the ok button.

15:53.524 –> 16:02.248
Do you really want to format your SD card? All data stored on the card will be lost. Your phone will be restarted after the operation. One of one.

16:02.336 –> 16:05.764
And we do so well, press ok and it’s going to ask us to verify.

16:06.064 –> 16:10.504
Do you really want to perform this action one of one once again, we do.

16:10.544 –> 16:11.800
So we’ll press ok.

16:11.992 –> 16:14.376
Please wait. Formatting your SD card.

16:14.480 –> 16:21.516
And now the phone is formatting the SD card. So we’ll give this a couple of moments to perform the task.

16:21.680 –> 16:25.132
Your card has been formatted. The phone will be restarted.

16:25.308 –> 16:30.984
Now I press Ctrl space because, as you heard, I kind of interrupted the phone. Let me show that to you again.

16:31.524 –> 16:33.476
The phone will be the phone.

16:33.580 –> 16:36.180
Do you hear me say? And right as the phone saying the phone.

16:36.292 –> 16:38.108
The phone will be the phone.

16:38.236 –> 16:40.500
So what we’re going to do is we’re going to press up arrow one.

16:40.532 –> 16:41.892
Armed Michael, two items.

16:41.988 –> 16:44.956
I’m going to hit the letter a to split the items.

16:45.060 –> 16:46.820
One item added. Track view.

16:46.972 –> 16:48.404
And then if I hit control right.

16:48.444 –> 16:51.890
Arrow 30 one, Michael, I hear 30 one.

16:51.922 –> 16:58.674
I’m going to play through my. And, and then I’m going to hit control space, and that’s where I want to stop.

16:58.714 –> 17:01.010
So I’m going to hit a again, one item added.

17:01.122 –> 17:08.074
And now I have four items on this track. Again. If you’re not familiar with what an item is, check out club unmute. So I’m going to hit control left.

17:08.114 –> 17:10.266
Arrow 30 one, Michael two.

17:10.410 –> 17:25.766
And this is the word and that I want to take away. Now we’re going to talk Ripple for a quick moment. If I have my ripple state set to off, then nothing’s going to move, which is ideally what I want. So I’ll hit control, shift p, ripple off, and ripple is off. So now I’m going to hit delete.

17:25.870 –> 17:27.102
One item removed.

17:27.198 –> 17:32.514
Jaws tells me one item removed. If I hit page up and then space, you’ll hear the cleaner edit.

17:32.894 –> 17:36.230
Your card has been formatted. The phone will be restarted.

17:36.342 –> 18:12.234
And now the phone has been restarted. We heard a click, and then I will feel a vibration here in a second. And right there’s the vibration. 28 seconds later, we’ll hear the startup melody for the blind shell classic two. And then our micro sd card will be ready to use. If you haven’t heard it yet, check out some of the other blind shell classic two. Now I want to edit that because listen what I say here. Check out some of the other shell phone show content. So I’m gonna scrub to the left a minute. Well, a second.

18:12.314 –> 18:15.138
We’re gonna tap the right bracket set selection end.

18:15.266 –> 18:32.554
That sets the selection end. I’m gonna hit page up once, hit space, see if I went back far enough. Show classic. Nope. I’m gonna hit page up again and I’m gonna play right before I say check out. Check out some of the other. No I’m not. It’s already there. Check out some of the other. So now if I hit left bracket.

18:32.674 –> 18:35.130
Set selection start, I can see what.

18:35.162 –> 18:52.040
The edit sounds like before I actually make the edit with the letter e to use. If you haven’t heard it yet, check out some of the other shell phone show content so you can hear how to back up your contacts. And I’m going to tap the delete.

18:52.072 –> 18:54.824
